“The college playoff system that is about to be developed for the 2025 college football season is some of the craziest that I can actually remember in my lifetime,” says Bill Bender of Sports Illustrated Magazine.
Since Indiana finished their season with a record of 13-0, it was ranked at the head of college football with their impressive win over Ohio State. With this, IU is faced with the number one seed in the 12 team playoff.
Once they were selected, their coach, who is coaching with Hoosiers, had something to say about their most recent match.
“Okay, guys. Great win last night. It was actually a heavyweight brawl, wasn’t a perfect game. It was a hard fought game. It was a great win for the program,” he said.
Then came other schools.
Alongside Indiana, the other three teams making the top four and earning a “bye-week” within the first round of playoffs are Ohio State, Geogia, and Texas Tech.
Other teams making the bracket, set to play this weekend, are Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Miami, Ole Miss, Tulane, Oregon, and James Maddison.
Many players within these high-achieving programs have won prostegious awards. One of the players who managed to make a record-breaking performance is Jacob Rodriguez of Texas Tech. His performance not only earned him a record but also the Bednarik Award for being the best defender of the year.
One of the key issues that was raised before the play-off bracket release is concerned with the lack of the presence of some of the key teams in college football, such as Notre Dame, in the bracket. Yet Notre Dame it is one of the few programs to has managed to record consecutive wins with a total of 10 games without any loss. Despite this, Notre Dame ended up left out of the playoff bracket.
One of the key statements raised in this play-off issue is that of Jim Phillips, who is the commissioner of the ACC, “There is just heartache at that cutline that you’re leaving some of those teams out of the Playoff that could go win a national championship, then you can’t get the right number.”
This is in line with the feelings of those who feel that one of the power conference teams was left out of the play-off.
Although the institutions are getting ready for their games for the bowls, the fans are trying to evaluate what could happen since the games for the quarter finals are about to happen. Will the state of Indiana manage to get the titles of the championship for the college football team?
Of course, any team with a low number is certainly capable of getting through with a victory.
