Homecoming week kicks off Monday, and students are gearing up for a lineup of themed days to show their school spirit. Get ready to dive headfirst into a whirlwind of theme days to ignite your school spirit. This year’s lineup promises to be one for the books. So, grab your costumes, gather your friends, and get ready for a week of memories to remember.
One of our most school-spirited girls, Bailee Chase, says, “Honestly, I think people are excited for homecoming spirit week since it’s in our new school. Even though the themes are kind of chill this year, I can tell that people are still excited for things like the pep rally and the parade.”
Monday kicks off with heroes vs. villains! Be prepared to see capes soaring through the hallways and villainous cackles echoing in the cafeteria.
Tuesday takes a turn towards the sun and surf with the age-old rivalry of Bikers vs. Surfers. Leather jackets and bandanas will go head-to-head with board shorts and Hawaiian shirts in a battle for beachside supremacy.
Wednesday brings a journey through time with Decades Day. From the roaring twenties to the neon eighties, students will be paying homage to their favorite eras. Get ready for a blast of nostalgia as bell-bottoms, flapper dresses, and teased hair fill the school.
Thursday transports us to the silver screen with Western vs. Hollywood. Cowboys and cowgirls will be wrangling up some fun alongside glamorous movie stars and red carpet regulars.
Finally, Friday culminates in a sea of school pride as everyone dons their best Black and Gold attire.
Hartlee Rainey says, “They seem very fun and laid-back, while also being interactive with the student body. I really enjoy seeing all the joy on people’s faces when wearing their outfits and also seeing people’s reactions to what other people choose to wear.”
As spirit week builds toward Friday’s homecoming game, students say the events bring joy, creativity, and connection.
More than costumes, the week is a celebration of community and lasting school pride.
