The students of Hernando High School recently went to Vegas, but luckily for them Vegas was in the form of the homecoming dance. As students spent all week preparing for the event, the night finally arrived. They spent the night listening to music and dancing the night away with friends and significant others.
Students enjoyed the DJ and his choice in music at this year’s dance. One student stated that it was “a little better than last year music wise”. Some of the top hits of the night were, “Fein” by Travis Scott, “24k Magic” by Bruno Mars, and “Hot To Go” by Chappell Roan.
Another fan favorite from the dance was the theme itself. Both Student council members and senior sponsor, Christy Roberts, worked hard to decide on a theme everyone would enjoy. Roberts wanted a dance theme that matched the game theme from the parade floats, using the idea of card games and dice. The final decision for the theme was “A Night in Vegas”. Staying true to the theme, the girls showed up in their dazzling dresses while the boys dressed up in dashing suits suited for the casino floor.
Not only did the glamorous outfits fill the dance floor, but they lined the way to the Photo Booth as well. The Photo Booth was available for friends and dates to make memories throughout the night and printed souvenirs were readily available for them to bring home.
Overall, students said they had “such a fun night.” and “can’t wait for next year’s [dance].”
