Hernando High-school had their 2025-2026 Prom at MingleWood Hall down in Madison avenue Memphis TN, the event lastef from 7pm-11pm. Hernando placed the theme of “Welcome to the jungle” which lead the venue to be jungle themed covered in small portions of animal print, trees, and other trinkets to really expose the theme. Including a giant giraffe on the stage. entering the dance floor there was a walkway covered in lights and trees.
Olivia Faulkner quoted “I love the jungle theme because you get the feeling “lets get wild” to keep the exciting energy up.” It really brings the kids together to keep the theme a hot topic in their convos. The choice of “welcome to the jungle” really fit in with the Hernando tigers”
Hernando’s chaperones were Destin Westmoreland, Christy Roberts, Nic Brown, Duane Case, Rebecca Hays, Julian Ide, Sarah Michael, Jamie Johnson, Tanya Liston, Taylor Karr, Melanie Domagala, Andy Wolfe, Traci Webb, and Sally Hammett. The staff provided proper care and watch for the students around.
“Prom was beautiful and well organized everyone looked beautiful and handsome” said Destin Westmoreland.
They really helped out with chaos and order management keeping everyone in check. Our staff also provided mini snacks like Skinny pop, brownies, cookies, pretzels and water, to keep our students fed. And even with the snacks our students still asked for more prepared meals.
Jonah Williams stated “I loved prom the music it all although we could get more fulfilling snacks.”
Just to keep their stomachs full while jumping around and dancing, a full meal would be a lot for a school event, so it is understandable they do not provide a full meal.
The music was very lively mainly played rap music mainly the students enjoyed screaming and singing their heart out, at the top of their lungs. A few of rap songs mentioned would be Bunna Summa, Party 4 U, Get Low, Not enough, and a bunch of other artist. The DJ would occasionally play slow dancing country songs that everyone around the students enjoyed, including Tennessee Whiskey, Through a screen.
Jackson Herring said “The country music was good and all and kept it very family friendly while still be able to dance with others.”
The students loved to slow dance with their significant other or it was their friends. Either way the students were dancing to anything that played. The students favorite thing to dance to was line dancing
Carly Wright stated ” Line dancing is probably my favorite part cause you get to dance in order as a school so it looks like their all in sync.”
Keeping the kids happy and dancing is all that matters.
Your 2026 prom also hosted the king and queen cermony during the middle of the dance your Hernando Highschool year 2025- 2026 prom king and queen was Lalia Nettles she is involved in the Hernando dance team, she stated her one piece advice towards other students is
“Dont be afraid to put yourself out there.”
Your prom king was Cade Logan his involvement is cross country and his one piece of advice is

This allows students to show who they are and be who they truly want to be. All together, Hernando High schools prom was a successful outcome is was a huge mention for other kids, staff and all parents around. Have fun tigers.
