Since 2007, Lost Pizza Co. has been serving delicious pizza throughout all of Mississippi. What began as a college fantasy of a restaurant with a fun, funky atmosphere and great food for Brooks Roberts and Preston Lott, the founders of Lost Pizza Co., would be turned into a reality in their adulthood. The first-ever Lost Pizza Co. was opened in Indianola, MS, Roberts and Lott’s hometown; the first of 36 current locations across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. The newest of those locations is located right here in Hernando, MS.
Mississippi agrees that Lost Pizza Co. is the best around, with it winning the title of “Best Pizza in Mississippi” for 8 straight years. The dough and sauce are made fresh in-house, while their custom cheese blend is ensured to be top quality, being served with no preservatives or additives. Customers can either create their own pizza or order from an existing menu featuring top choices, such as the Otis, an all-meat-toppings pizza, or the Pitboss, a BBQ-themed pizza with pulled pork, caramelized onions, and BBQ sauce drizzled all over the top. Lost Pizza Co. doesn’t just stop at pizza; they have a variety of starters such as cheese sticks, fried ravioli, and tamales, while also serving your classic pasta choices (marinara or alfredo angel hair, with meatballs or chicken), and sandwiches, which have the same ordeal as the pizza menu.
The community is much more than just excited; they’ve been patiently waiting for this opening since it was pushed back in Spring 2025.
“I had the BEST mushroom and spinach from there!” said Victoria Thyer. “I love their cheese sticks and dessert pizzas! I love Lost Pizza Co!”
Even those who don’t like or eat pizza are happy for Hernando and its economy to have such a business open here.
“I’m not exactly a pizza lover…” said Allisha Guan, “but I’ve seen some pretty good things about it! …Honestly, I’m really happy that all these companies are coming into Hernando. This, along with the new school and everything, really shows that Hernando is growing as a city and that new and even better things are going to come.”
Lost Pizza Co. also creates new job opportunities for Hernando’s community at large, specifically teenagers, who have been struggling to find any open jobs in Hernando.
“Everyone is really friendly,” said 16-year-old Mallory McDonald, a new employee at Lost Pizza. “I know most of my coworkers, and my manager even feels like a friend. The food is great, too. It’s not something you can get tired of. The atmosphere is so nice; I’m always excited to come into work!”
