It Ends with Us, a fan favorite novel by Colleen Hoover, was recently brought to life with Justin Baldoni’s brilliant directing and acting skills. However, it seems that everything was not perfect behind the scenes of the film. Speculations accrued after the release of the movie centering around actor, Blake Lively, who played the main character, Lilly Bloom. During the world premiere in New York, Lively and Baldoni were not seen taking any pictures together. However, Lively took pictures with everyone else from the cast. Fans also noticed that Lively followed everyone from the cast on Instagram except Baldoni, leaving many to speculate that an argument happened between them while filming the movie.

One alleged controversy might be due to Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds. While filming It Ends With Us, Reynolds wrote the rooftop scene, which is one of the most iconic scenes in the movie. A source from Daily Mail gave a quote from Reynolds saying he “jumped in to help the film from disaster.” Several news sources say this is one of the major reasons why there is a feud between Lively and Baldoni.

Another alleged altercation claims that Baldoni made a comment about Lively’s weight while filming. One scene in the movie has Baldoni pick up Lively. This scene had Baldoni worried about his back due to having a previous back injury. A quote from Lipstick Alley said “He went to his on-set trainer and asked how much she weighed and how could he train to protect his back from injury.” This made Lively feel uncomfortable as she felt she was being fat shamed by the actor, especially after recently giving birth.

During all of the press interviews, Baldoni focused on the abuse aspect of the movie and how hard it is to get of a domestic relationship. On the other hand, Lively did not mention the abuse aspect of the film in much press interviews. Lively instead used the movie to promote her husband’s new film, Deadpool, as well as her new hair product line. Before the film aired, she stated in interviews that the movie was a “bubbly barbie like romcom”.

This is not the first time backlash has come out about the star during an interview. Recently, an interview from 2016 resurfaced where Kjevsti Flaa, an interviewer for YouTube, talked to Lively and congratulated her for her baby bump. Lively made sure to bounce back, saying “congrats on your little bump” to the infertile interviewer. Flaa made a statement after saying it made her want to quit her job and she felt horrible.

Overall, we will never really know what happened during filming or after. Some people will believe that Lively is a classic mean girl, and others will believe that none of this is true. It remains that only Lively and Baldoni know the truth behind their relationship.
