On November 2nd the Hernando High School’s Cross Country (XC) season officially ended for the 2024-2025 school year. The varsity team’s most outstanding and top runners were Trace Thornhill, Aaron Richardson, Kyleigh Carter, and Abby White.
For their last meet, which took place on November 2nd, the team competed in the state championship. Though they did not place as a team, Kyleigh Carter placed fifth in the state and Abby White placed 29th for the girls. Trace Thornhill placed 44th in the state following, Aaron Richardson placing sixteenth.
Both coaches, Mary Sada Foster, and Lane Carter, have worked tirelessly to lead this team to the championship. Their manager, Sadie Hofmann, assisted the team in numerous ways and provided accurate statistics for the HernandoTigersSportsNetwork (HTSN) to report on. “They worked their hardest this season, and I’m proud of each of my runners,” she said.
Senior runner Pennilopi Burdett, said, “ The team overall did an amazing job this season.” Hernando High School would like to congratulate every runner on the XC team and honor their coaches and manager.
