Tyler, the Creator’s newest album “CHROMAKOPIA” has left many fans and reviewers in complete awe since its release on October 28th of this year; with many of its songs already hitting the Billboard Top 100 such as ‘St. Chroma’ and ‘Noid’.
The 14-track album centers around the theme of paranoia and adulthood, as the song’s lyrics are scattered with quotes of advice his mother gave him when he was young. From upbeat aggressive songs like “Sticky” and “Thought I Was Dead” to more introspective tracks such as “Like Him”, Tyler, the Creator has once again displayed his musical range and pushed the limits of what he’s done before.
Along with the release of the album, Tyler announced the “CHROMAKOPIA The World Tour”, with dates starting from February 4th to September 4th of next year, with openers Lil Yachty and Paris Texas. His tour spans North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, kicking off in St. Paul, Minnesota.
By listening to the entire album straight through, and listening to friends, family, and listeners opinions, it’s safe to say that the 8th track, “Sticky” is a fan favorite, with features like Lil Wayne, Sexxy Red, and GloRilla. Other tracks in the album include other features such as Daniel Caesar who’s featured in “St. Chroma” and “Take Your Mask Off”, Lola Young who’s featured in “Like Him”, Doechii in “Balloon” and many more.
The album is a chaotic whirlwind of rap, jazz, and playful synths with deep basses and an impressive range of featured artists. “CHROMAKOPIA” is a beautiful, chaotic album that Tyler executed absolutely perfectly.
