With the U.S. presidential election right around the corner, at the time of this article’s publication, we wanted to give you who might be a registered Voter or a person interested in politics an unbiased view of both candidates’ policies and issues on the 2024 Ballot. Kamala Harris
Kamala states she wants to Cut Taxes for Middle-Class Families. She plans to do this by restoring two tax cuts, the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit. She says these are designed to help middle-class and working Americans. They plan to expand the Child Tax Credit to provide a $6000 tax cut to families with newborns.
She also wants to Make Rent More Affordable and Home Ownership More Attainable. She plans to build 3 million rental units and homes that are more affordable for residents. Her goal is to end the housing crisis in her first term.
Grow Small Businesses and Invest in Entrepreneurs. She plans to have 25 million new business applications by the end of her first term. She will expand the start-up expense tax deductions from $5000 to $50000.
Other notable issues are Taking on Bad Actors and Bringing down Costs, Strengthening and Bringing down the Cost of Health Care, Protecting and Strengthening Social Security and Medicare, Supporting American Innovation and Workers, Providing a Pathway to the Middle Class Through Quality, Affordable Education, Investing in Affordable Child Care and Long-Term Care, and Lowering Energy Costs and Tackling the Climate Crisis.

Restore and Protect Reproductive Freedoms. She states that the government should not tell women what to do with their bodies. She says she will never allow a national abortion ban to become law, and if Congress attempts to pass a bill she won’t sign it.
Protect Civil Rights and Freedoms. She plans to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights and the Freedom to Vote Acts, which aim to protect Voting Rights and expand vote-by-mail and early voting. She says she will protect the freedoms of every American.

She wants to Make Our Communities Safer From Gun Violence and Crime. She plans to do this by banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. She wants universal background checks and supports red flag laws. She says she will continue to invest in funding law enforcement.
She wants to Secure Our Borders and Fix Our Broken Immigration System. She plans to bring back the bipartisan border security bill and sign it into law. She states that our immigration system is broken and needs a reform that includes better security and an earned pathway to citizenship.
She plans to Tackle the opioid and Fentanyl Crisis and Ensure No One is Above the Law. She was to stop the flow of drugs and make sure that no former president has immunity to crimes committed. She also says she supports common-sense Supreme Court reforms. For example, requiring Justices to comply with ethics rules that other federal judges are bound by and imposing term limits.
