Back again for its seasonal haunts, Cedar Hill Farm, located in Hernando Mississippi, reopened its fall attractions on October first. Included in these fall attractions, are the Haunted Hayride, Trail of Terror, Sensturbia, Zombie – Paintball Target Shoot, and a Flashlight Corn Maize. These attractions have allured many to the family-run farm to enjoy a night of fun and terror.
The haunted hayride is a 15 minute experience where patrons start by boarding a trailer hitched to a tractor. Once boarded, customers sit on hay bales and are driven along a pre-plotted course. Along the way, the tractor stops at various spots where actors will give viewers the fright of their lives by jumping out at them. Some actors even come aboard the trailer to scare the riders.
Similar to the haunted hayride, the trail of terror is also a pre-plotted course where actors hide and wait for the perfect moment to jump out and scare unsuspecting victims. This attraction is slightly different due to it being a walk through experience in the woods. The encounters can happen both inside and outside and the hauntings are up close and personal.
Following the trail idea, another attraction offered is Sensturbia. For this attraction, people are blindfolded and led through a maze. Actors in hiding will drop walls and jump out in order to give the unseeing a bone chilling scare.
Cedar Hill Farm offers other attractions for those who do not want to be frightened such as the Zombie – Paintball Target Shooting. During this attraction, workers give attendees a can of paintballs which are loaded into a toy gun. A wall then lifts up and it is time to shoot the fake zombies. All an all, this attraction lasts about 5 to 10 minutes and is a fun alternate for those who don’t want to be frightened.
The flashlight corn maize is also a non-haunted option for young children to enjoy. This attraction starts with a hay ride out to the maize. Once there, guests enter the maize and begin trying to find their way out. Along the way, guests can participate in the punch hole scavenger hunt for a chance to win a free Christmas tree.
In addition to these features, Cedar Hill Farm gives attendees the chance to rent out fire pits. Renting out a fire pit gives individuals a place to stop and relax after a terrifying scare. In addition, they also have concessions with hot food to make the evening complete.
All an all, Cedar Hill Farm is a family-owned farm that hosts various fun and friendly activities throughout the month of October. Although the haunted farm is one of the bigger seasonal events, there are many more throughout the year. So come on down to the Cedar Hill Haunted Farm for a “spook-tacular” night now through November 2nd.
