As the weather gets colder and the holidays are around the corner, Hernando High’s annual Halloweek unfolds. Halloweek is a full week of Halloween spirit constructed by Interact. This year’s Halloween falls on the dates of October 28 through October 31.
During this week, Interact will host different activities for the student body. Monday expect to see “morning mingle” as you walk into the gym doors before school. This morning, Interact will pass out candy and allow student to hang around bonding with their peers.
On Tuesday, there will be a short halt in the activities considering the seniors will be taking the ACT. However, on Wednesday, the activities are back in full swing with a Halloween themed scavenger hunt in the school.
This year, Halloween is on Thursday, and this will be when Interact hosts the student favorite fun lunches! Fun lunches are during the regular scheduled lunch time, but with many Halloween themed activities taking place in the lunch room for students to participate in. Olivia Young says Halloweek is good for others because “it helps get others out of their shell a little bit and get together to celebrate the holidays and maybe make new friends and see new faces.” Last year included cup pong, bean bag toss, bracelet making, and much more. Young stated that this year is sure to hold more and better than last year! Make sure to attend Halloweek to attend all the activities.
