
LOS ANGELES (Sept. 8, 2025) A body has been uncovered in a car registered to rising singer D4vd, also known as David Anthony Burke, prompting a homicide investigation from the Los Angeles police.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, officers responded to reports of a strong odor coming from an impounded vehicle in Hollywood. The car was confirmed to be linked to Burke, a 20-year-old singer known for blending bedroom pop, R&B, and alternate rock.
On that night a house the Tesla was near was searched by police, ABC news accounted, “A dozen LAPD investigators took a computer and other items from a Hollywood home. Police spent hours at the home on Doheny Place, placing several evidence bags into an SUV, but they wouldn’t say if or how it was connected to the Tesla.”
The Los Angeles Medical Examiners determined the body belonged to a young woman whose race and identity are currently unknown. According to ABC news she was described to be, 5-foot-1 with wavy black hair and was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet and metal stud earrings. She also had a tattoo on her right index finger that said “Shhh…”
As of now the identity of the body if unknown. Authorities have not said who was last in possession of the vehicle or when it was abandoned. Police confirmed fingerprints were collected but said no matches had been confirmed yet.
Singer, Burke has had no public statement on the situation. According to MSN, one of Burke’s spokespersons has said the singer, “is fully cooperating with the authorities.” He is currently on his Withered tour, which is scheduled to conclude Oct. 23 with two scheduled performances in Los Angeles.
For those who don’t know who Burke is, he rose to fame on Tik-Tok and has built a fan base through his genre-blending music, featuring bed-room pop, R&B, and alternate rock.

New details have been released on Sept. 17.
The results of the Los Angeles Medical Examiners have been released to the public. The body has been identified as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.
In a statement the Los Angeles police department said, “At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time.”
According to eyewitnesses, Rivas had a history of running away from home but typically returned. She was last seen in May 2024 following her final disappearance.
The cause of death as of now is listed as “deferred.” Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
